Nuzul Al-Quran

Nuzul Al-Quran marks the night the first verses of the Quran were revealed to the Prophet Muhammad, and it falls within the fasting month of Ramadan. In Kelantan, where religious life sits close to the heart of the community, the day is a state public holiday and is observed with quiet devotion across the state.

Mosques and surau hold special prayers, Quran readings, and religious talks, and many people spend the day in reflection. Coming as it does during Ramadan, the occasion adds a deeper layer of meaning to a month already given over to faith and self-restraint.

Practical notes: This is a state public holiday in Kelantan, so some shops and offices may close or keep shorter hours. The observances are religious gatherings; visitors are welcome to take them in respectfully and should dress modestly near mosques.
